Benefit from a stronger initial braking effect, which nevertheless remains easy to control. The Wave brake discs offer a higher coefficient of friction thanks to special steel alloys used in racing.
Faster and better self-cleaning of the braking surface:
The wave shape of the brake disc prevents the brake pads from becoming clogged with deposits and dirt and increases the cleaning process (self-cleaning process) of the brake disc and pads. With each rotation of the wheel, the outer wave ring of the disc removes the dirt from the surface of the pads. This means that the brake pad always fits perfectly on the brake disc.
More stable braking performance through better heat dissipation:
During frequent, strong, repeated braking maneuvers (race track or serpentine roads), the brake disc heats up considerably. Due to the outer wave shape of the brake disc, the disc has a larger outer surface and can radiate more heat over this larger surface. This means that the operating temperature can be kept well below the usual values for normal, round brake discs. The result is: less heat = consistently more braking power!
More consistent braking effect:
Thanks to the special steel alloy, the braking discs achieve very good performance even when cold. But even under extreme heat conditions, the brake disc always remains very easy to control, which makes handling the machine easier.
Lower weight:
Due to the radical milling of the aluminum inner ring (brake disc carrier ring) and the ventilation milling in the running surface of the brake disc, the weight of the Braking Wave brake disc is less than that of a round standard brake disc - without losing stability or durability.
