Ilmberger Carbon fairing lower part Racing for BMW S1000RR (from model year '15-)
General Description
The one-piece racing fairing lower section for the BMW S1000RR from 2015 is closed in the lower area. The fairing lower section is designed so that the original side stand can continue to be used. It fits perfectly with the racing fairing, but can also be combined with standard fairing side panels. In this case, however, the front plastic insert (air inlet on the oil and water cooler) must be cut off at the level of the separation between the side panels and the lower section, as the air inlet to the oil cooler is firmly attached to the racing fairing lower section in carbon. To attach the racing fairing lower section, the fairing bracket set with article number VHK.351.S1R15.K is required. This product replaces the original component using the original attachment points. The main focus is on weight savings (usually a saving of around 70% compared to the original component) and greater rigidity. The carbon part was manufactured in an autoclave in accordance with the latest guidelines, entirely from prepreg (see FAQ) material, and in the next step, as is our practice, it was coated with a clear plastic coating to protect it against environmental influences. This plastic coating is much more protective, scratch-resistant and durable than the usual clear varnish coating. But the coating is not only a technical winner, it also clearly underlines the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure.
